A family of ranchers from Montana faces encroachment on their land. Forry J. Smith, who plays Lloyd, is a seasoned master in the world of rodeo. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often seems to “forget” his Montana accent and revert to speaking in the Southern California voice he usually uses. I don’t think anyone does westerns better than Kevin Costner, and with Taylor Sheridan writing the script, it’s a win for the audience. Check out Windy River for an example of what Taylor Sheridan is capable of. Where was Cole Hauser hiding? He is amazing. I think that the daughter is a necessary part, but she overdoes it, behaving like a bitch. The scenery here is fantastic, and being a Colorado resident I can truly appreciate this vast and beautiful land. Do yourself a favor and watch this series because it promises to be a win-win.
