The finish of the 2021/22 Italian Women’s Volleyball Championship regular season (4 rounds to go, but some teams have to play a game or 2 more) promises to be utterly interesting in terms of fighting for the top seed.
Prosecco Doc Imoco Volley Conegliano returned to their home ground after more than 2 weeks to beat Savino Del Bene Scandicci in the hit of Round 22 of the 2021/22 Serie A. The ’Panthers’ recovered from the midweek knockout against Igor Gorgonzola Novara, doing so against another opponent aiming for the title. Despite the risk after the first set, Imoco found their game and won with a score of 3-1, being led by Paola Egonu (27 points) and Raphaela Folie (9 blocks). Monica De Gennaro made 77% reception (26 digs, 4 errors, 54% perfect).
Imoco moved up to 3rd place in the chart, which is topped by Vero Volley Monza (2 points more) and in which Novara keep the vice-leader position (1 point more). The 4th-placed Scandicci are now probably too far behind the Top-3 teams, but they aren’t without a chance to finish the regular season at the forefront.
